The Fire Department of the São Paulo State Military Police opened a public consultation on the proposed revision of the Technical Instructions (ITs), the standards that detail the fire safety requirements for buildings and risk areas. According to the department, all the ITs will go through the consultation, published weekly and in batches, following its own schedule.

The ITs complement the State Fire Safety Regulation, established by Decree No. 69.118 of December 9, 2024. They guide the technical project, the inspection and the issuance of the AVCB (Fire Department Inspection Certificate, Auto de Vistoria do Corpo de Bombeiros) and the CLCB (Fire Department License Certificate, Certificado de Licença do Corpo de Bombeiros). Under art. 63 of the decree, each issue or reissue of an IT goes through a public consultation of at least 30 days.

The other four batches are still accepting suggestions. Until October 24, fire load (IT-14) and smoke control (IT-15) are open. Until November 1, the fire brigade (IT-17), emergency lighting (IT-18), detection and alarm (IT-19) and emergency signage (IT-20). Until November 8, extinguishers (IT-21). Until November 15, among others, the Simplified Technical Project (IT-42).
